How to make a QR code for Instagram

    1. Enter your username

Type your Instagram username, with or without the @. The code points to your profile page, so check that your profile is public if you want strangers to see it.

    2. Make it look like you

Change the colors, pick the dot shape and add your logo or keep the Instagram icon in the middle. Keep strong contrast so the code still scans.

    3. Download and test

Download a PNG for print or an SVG for design work, scan it with a phone and make sure your profile opens before you print it on a flyer or a cup.

    Profile link or post link

This page builds a code that opens your profile, which is the best choice for flyers, cards and shop windows, because new followers land where they can see all your posts. To send people to a single post or reel instead, choose Any website and paste that post's address.

Where to use an Instagram QR code

It works on business cards, packaging, menus, receipts, event posters, shop windows, merchandise and slides. Pair it with a short call to action, such as Scan to follow us, because a bare code gives no reason to scan. Print it at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide on a plain background.

Make the code match your brand

Use your brand color for the dots on a light background and add your logo in the center. The generator warns you if contrast is too low and raises error correction when a logo is present. Always test the printed result with two or three phones, in the light where it will be used.

Changed your @? Update without reprinting

A static code holds your username inside it, so a new @ means a new code and a reprint. If you rename your account, or run a campaign that changes, make a dynamic QR code instead: a free URLHop account gives a short link that you can point to your new profile later, and you see how many people scanned it.

    Do Instagram QR codes expire?

Not the static one. Your profile address is written inside the code, so it keeps working as long as the username does and does not depend on URLHop. If you rename your account, the old address stops working and the printed code goes with it. A dynamic URLHop code does not expire either.

    Instagram QR code: questions

Is this Instagram QR code generator free?

Yes. You can make and download the code for free, with no account, no e-mail and no watermark. PNG and SVG are both included.

How do I make a QR code for my Instagram profile?

Open the Link tab with the Instagram option, type your username and the code appears right away. Choose colors and a logo if you want, then download it as PNG or SVG and test it with your phone.

Can I put my logo in the QR code?

Yes. Add a PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF in the logo panel and it goes in the middle, and the code switches to the highest error correction. Keep the logo simple and small, and test the print.

Does the code stop working if I change my username?

A static code does. It holds the old address, so it opens a page that no longer exists after a rename. A dynamic QR code keeps the printed code the same and lets you point it to the new profile.

Can I see how many people scan it?

Not with the static code from this generator. A dynamic QR code from a free URLHop account counts scans by day, country and device, which shows whether the flyer or the card is working.

    Might your @ change?

A static code is locked to the username you typed. A dynamic one keeps working after a rename and shows how many people scanned it. It is free to start.
